WHO AM I?

Monday, February 1, 2010

Have you ever asked yourself the question, Who am I? Fourteen years ago, going through mild depression, I asked myself that very question. My sister was over that day and during one of our many deep conversations, I looked out into the living room and saw nothing that represented me. Even though it was my home, I didn’t feel connected. Everything in my living room was either given to me or chosen for me, the furniture, the lamps, the accessories, right down to the colors on the wall. Suddenly, I realized that I didn’t know who I was. I remember saying to my sister, “ I don’t have an identity.” I knew I was a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, but who was Kim? These were just the roles I played out in my everyday life. I had just been going through the motions. There had to more to me than this. This aha’ moment changed my life. I decided I was going to find out about myself. Who was I? What did I like to do? What was I passionate about? What was I good at doing? My journey began in search of discovering who I was and what I was called to be and do.

Today is my first blog post. I am so excited to begin this new journey with you. I want you to know you are God’s precious daughter. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You see that’s where I got started on the journey. Through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I have come to know and understand who I am in Him. I don’t have all the gifts that I would like to have, (writing is one) but I accept what God has given me and I am passionate about using my gifts and talents to glorify God.

Without Him, I can do nothing. However, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil. 4:13.

"Becoming"...is a safe place to voice what is on your mind. I hope we can connect with one another and share our stories. We all have special gifts and talents and we are to use them to glorify God. My gift is helping women discover these gifts. God has given each of us a unique purpose while we are here on earth. I want you to discover yours. You see, I may not ever be a great writer but God has given me the gift of listening and encouraging women. I would love to know your story. I will be here taming my writing skills, so drop by anytime and I will listen.

Something to Ponder...Who Am I ?

In Him,
